I recently had the honor of shooting some videos of Naomi Lavender(Actress from Piece of Sun and A Cockroach Named Henry) doing what she does best. Please enjoy.

"All Sun And Little White Flowers proves that you can't tie Larry Holden down. This guy cannot be pigeon-holed. He will always surprise you. With this film he throws us into a world of pain and joy and innocence and betrayal to tell a story that is hilarious, haunting and painfully intimate. To put it more succinctly; it is the most emotionally complex film he has made to date. Holden's writing, editing, and directing evolve with each film and here they are flat out brilliant. The film breathes and flows in a way that allows us to study what is being presented instead offorcing it down our throats. To do such a thing is a delicate balancing act, but he pulls it off without a hitch. His cast helps him accomplish all of this of course; every performance big and small adds something unique to the tapestry being woven. This is also his most visually stunning film. It has, I dare say, almost a noirish aesthetic at times and is certainly one of the more beautiful looking independent films you will see this year. The bottom line is you will not find anyone on planet earth putting out films like Larry Holden. All Sun And Little White Flowers proves that he continues to be a fierce and singular voice in the world of independent cinema. I loved this movie and have watched it too many times to count. And anyone that loves film needs to see it too."

Naomi Lavender... the lead actress in PIECE OF SUN is currently working on and acting in a local production of the musical HAIR... read more about it and get tickets here. The show runs through mid October. Support it.

MARK BRUNETTI

Mark Brunetti is one of my favorite poets, so naturally I wrote him on a whim and asked him to act in PIECE OF SUN. I am terribly excited that he has agreed to do so. This movie's cast is pretty much amazing from where I am sitting. Mark is also an editor for The Idiom Magazine which you should definitely check out. Also buy this book which collects the first two volumes of the magazine. The Idiom renewed my faith in modern American poetry... good stuff.

CAVEH ZAHEDI

Caveh Zahedi... that's right, Caveh Zahedi will also be acting in PIECE OF SUN. He is of course an incredible filmmaker as well as an incredible actor. Go here and buy all of his movies... your life will be better I guarantee it.

NAOMI LAVENDER is a local artist that has signed on to star in PIECE OF SUN. Very excited to work with her. You should watch her music video below:

FFTD was just accepted into it's first festival. Unfortunately we had to decline the invitation because the festival takes place in a week and there is no way to get it to them in time in the format needed. So good and bad news.

Douglas Fromm

I am producing(along with Ben Lamm) a film tentatively titled "Douglas Fromm." It is being directed by Alex Brownson and I have really high hopes for it. He wrote it with a fellow named Adam whose last name I will put on here as soon as I get it.

They did their first round of auditions for it today and it was of course a good time and went very well.

Looking forward to it. It starts shooting in the middle of February.

The Empty Chair

Shot about 1/2 of a new feature called the empty chair over the past week or so. I created a little page for it in the navigation bar.

Going to Alabama next week to continue filming. Then I will sit down. Good productive times.
